Monica Bellucci was born on September 30th in Cittá di Castello, Perugia. In 1988 Monica moved to Milan and began her modeling career. Though extremely successful as a model, Monica nonetheless decided to try her hand at acting and starred in Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula in 1992.
Since then she has established herself as a successful international star and was nominated for the César (the French Oscar) as best promise actress for her work in L'appartement.
Monica was recently seen in the title role of Malèna. She worked on the film Astérix & Obélix: Mission Cléopatre, based on the popular French cartoon strip, where Monica was the seductive Cleopatra. Monica has also been cast in the highly-anticipated sequel to 1999's The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded. Although the model-turned-actress has reached incredible heights in both streams of her career, she still dreams of working with the legendary Robert De Niro.
