Growing up, she was like many girls of the 1980's, Cameron was going to Hollywood parties and staying out until the early morning hours. This is where she met a man who would change the route of her life. Jeff Dunas spotted Cameron and said he could sign her with Elite. Cameron took his card and spoke to her family and friends about the proposition that had been made to her. Long Beach had been her home for sixteen years and she was about to start a new life that would send her around to world to such places as Japan, Australia, Morocco and Paris.

Returning to California at age 21, Cameron continued to model, until she auditoned for a small bit part in the movie, "The Mask" starting Jim Carrey. Despite having no acting experience or credits, she was casted as the female lead Tina Carlye. After receiving rave reviews, she set out to perfect her acting skills by doing low buget films such as "The Last Supper," "Feeling Minnesota" and "Head Above Water." She returned to the big screen with "My Best Friends Wedding" and "A Life Less Ordinary". The film that put her on the top of every Hollywood hot list was "Something About Mary".
