She grew up in Australia where she attended the drama school. She made her debut in cinema with the australian film "Bush Christmas" at age 14, and soon began finding continuous work as an actress.
Only 17 years old at the time, Nicole Kidman was voted Best Actress of the year by the Australian Film Institute for her performance and the Australian Public.
In 1990 she married Tom Cruise. Now they have two adopted children: Connor Antony Cruise born February 1995 and Isabella Jane Kidman born January 1993.
